Debra Clarke is raising money for The Flicka Foundation

Tandem Sky Dive · 30 August 2026

The Flicka Foundation saves donkeys and horses from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. They are rescued, rehabilitated and live out the rest of their lives in comfort, peace and tranquility with everything they need

Story

I am part of a Flicka Team (myself, Rachel, Anna and Jodie) who are doing a skydive for the donkeys this summer!

Yes – you heard that correctly! We are going to throw ourselves out of a perfectly good plane at 10,000 feet, falling at speeds of around 120mph... A crazy challenge of a lifetime to raise vital funds for Flicka’s work. The tandem skydive attempt will take place on the 30th August, the day before Flicka’s 31st birthday, and a very special day to all of us.

It started as an idea that it would be a good thing to do and now we really are doing it! Myself and Rachel are NOT looking forward to it, Jodie has never even been in a plane before(!), and Anna is working her way through a bucket list of exciting things, but the one thing we have in common is our love of, and dedication, to the donkeys who we will do anything for!

Please consider sponsoring us, if you can, to help us raise funds for the work of caring for and rescuing donkeys in desperate need.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and please wish us lots of luck!

For those who don't know, The Flicka Foundation is a registered charity. We currently care for over 100 donkeys and a small number of ponies and horses at our Cornwall-based sanctuary, as well as having almost 100 more in special foster homes – the majority of whom have been rescued from situations of abuse, neglect and abandonment. We are now celebrating our 31st anniversary and have rescued and rehabilitated well over 1000 animals over the years.

The costs of looking after all these animals are huge. We need to find funds for feed, supplements, veterinary care, dentist and farrier fees, essential site maintenance, equipment and more and we simply wouldn't be able to care for so many animals without help. Thank you so much for helping to make a difference!
