Story
Hello dear friends and family,
Earlier this year, we experienced an unimaginable loss. Our best friend — and to many of us, a sister in every sense , Selina Violet Douglas-Holme tragically took her own life.
Even if you didn’t know Selina personally, you likely heard about her , the beautiful blonde dutch girl with the biggest smile, the cheekiest laugh, and a heart that radiated warmth. She was a ray of sunshine in all our lives, and the absence of her light has been deeply felt every single day since.
Selina battled with her mental health, a struggle many of us are familiar with. It’s a silent fight that so often hides behind bright eyes and brave faces. Like so many, I’ve had my own journey , through anxiety and anorexia , and I know how isolating and overwhelming it can feel. That’s why raising awareness and support for mental health is so important to me.
In honour of Selina, my sister Daisy and I have decided to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London this year. We’ll be running to raise funds for Mind (Hammersmith branch), a charity that offers vital support for mental health.
Those of you who know me well know I am not a runner, in fact, I actively avoid it! So this is going to be a real challenge for me, but one that I’m committed to in memory of our beautiful friend.
My goal is to raise £2500, and any support , big or small , would mean the world. Whether you’re able to donate, share this message, or just send some encouragement, I’d be so grateful.
Let’s keep Selina’s spirit alive by helping others who might be silently struggling. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you’re able to give.
