Brighton Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·

MPN Voice leads the way in supporting people with rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), with accurate information and emotional support. We're funding research toward better treatments and one day a cure. Most importantly we offer hope to those affected by MPNs.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :)

I've caught the running bug, and I'm running Brighton Marathon on 7th April to raise money and awareness for MPN Voice. The 7th April will mark almost ten years to the day since I got diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera (PV), a rare and incurable type of blood cancer. Having never said no to a challenge in my life, I naturally decided to spend my cancer-versary running a marathon.

Although not necessarily life-limiting, PV comes with a hell of a lot of weird and wonderful symptoms and of course, has its challenges. The last ten years have been a wild journey navigating this bizarre condition, but I just want to show everyone that you can do absolutely anything if you put your mind to it.

The work MPN Voice does is the best. They are the most supportive group of people who are there whenever you need them, and although I am a lot less needy now than ten years ago, I know they are there when I need them, and doing a lot of great work behind the scenes to hopefully find a cure.

Thanks so much for all of the love and support.
