We are excited to be entering the Nottingham Super Soapbox Challenge on the 10th of May in Old Market Square, Nottingham as The Flower Pod Flyers, bringing together creativity, teamwork, and community spirit, for charity Reach Learning Disability.

Flower Pod is a day service that offers therapeutic horticulture and is part of Reach Learning Disability. At Reach Learning Disability, we empower adults with learning disabilities to lead happier, healthier lives and reach beyond expectation. Your support helps us provide life skills training and creative activities—breaking down barriers, reducing isolation, and building confidence. Together, we’re creating places where everyone feels valued, included, and supported to reach their potential. Every donation makes a lasting difference, providing opportunities for people to thrive, gain independence, and build connections. Thank you!

Our vision is to transform our soapbox into a vibrant wheelbarrow bursting with brightly coloured flowers, reflecting the joy and positivity that Flower Pod brings to the people we support every day. This project has been a true team effort, with our clients at the heart of every stage—from designing to building the soapbox itself.

Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated individuals, including Nicola Bradley, Flower Pod Southwell Centre Manager, and Gillian Foster, Project Coordinator, who has spent time working closely with clients to design and create the soapbox. We’re also joined by Keeley Colquit, who is passionate about the local community and horticulture, bringing even more enthusiasm and support to the team.

We’re also designing and making our own outfits together with the clients, adding even more colour, creativity, and personality to the day. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, and have lots of fun as a team.
