Story
This April I will be running my 4th annual fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for Cancer Relief — a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Cancer has affected my life in the hardest way possible. I sadly lost both of my parents to cancer, around a year apart. Anyone who has experienced loss like this knows how devastating it can be, not only for the person diagnosed but for the families around them. The journey can feel overwhelming, and that is why the support organisations like Cancer Relief provide is so important.
I have chosen to support Cancer Relief because of the amazing work they do within our community, helping people and families navigate one of the most difficult times of their lives. Their support, care and guidance makes a real difference to those who need it most.
This campaign against cancer is my way of honouring my parents, while also trying to help others who are currently facing this battle. My goal is not only to raise vital funds, but also to raise awareness about cancer, encourage people to recognise the signs and symptoms, and highlight the importance of staying active and looking after our health.
Throughout this campaign I’ll be pushing myself physically with a number of challenges:
• 150km during April – running 5km every day
• Bootcamp Fundraiser – 1st April
• Spinathon – 22nd April
• Med Steps 5 Challenge – 9th May
• Half Marathon – 10th May (if my legs still work by then!)
• Brave the Shave – donating my hair to the Princess Trust to help create a wig, if it’s long enough.
This is about more than just fundraising. It’s about remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those who are fighting right now, and reminding people that they are not alone.
If you are able to donate, take part in an event, or simply share this page, it would mean a lot. Every bit of support helps Cancer Relief continue their incredible work helping people in our community.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support.
