Story

After 30 years associated with Countess Anne School, Mrs Sue Rockhill will be retiring at Easter

To thank her for her contribution to the school, and the countless children who her work has benefited, we are collecting for a retirement present. We invite school families, past and present to contribute.

Sue started her Countess Anne journey in January 1995, when her eldest joined Reception. She was part of the school PTA, and then became a governor in 2002. Sue joined the school office staff in 2006, and for the past 19 years she has been a key part of making Countess Anne School the special place it is today.

In addition to Sue's day-to-day role in the school office, through her role as school family worker, she has quietly supported some of the most vulnerable families through difficult times. She has providing a listening ear, directed families to a relevant service, acted as the link to local food banks, helped to have family debts cleared and ensured that all children who want to go on a residential school trip are able to.

Sue has attended countless school residentials ever since 2002 and has been particularly involved in the Snowdonia and Lake District trips, supporting both staff and children in exploring the mountains. She plans to spend her retirement exploring more outdoor pursuits, and we hope this retirement gift will go on one of these adventures.
