PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

On the 10th, 11th and 12th July, Mr. Town, a member of staff at Wilsden Primary School in Bradford, will be running 104 miles (167.37km) from Rudheath Primary in Cheshire West, and visiting every one of our schools, finishing at Wilsden Primary in Bradford, West Yorkshire. En route he will visit all 15 schools within Focus-Trust during their school day.  The schedule is published and schools will be able to prepare and greet Mr. Town when he arrives and perhaps do a couple of laps of the playground with him before waving him off on his journey to the next school.

As a Trust we are doing this to raise money for an amazing charity, Papyrus. who do such an immense amount of work supporting families and young people with their mental health, especially to prevent suicide in youngsters. Schools within the Trust have  families who have been well supported by them and they have also offered training opportunities to our staff so that they can be better equipped to recognise any signs of poor mental health within our children and act accordingly.

All our amazing children/staff within our schools will also be aiming to complete 1 mile around our school grounds. This will add up to 7104 miles (about 11432.78 km).

During the event there will be live trackers so that we can track the progress of Mr. Town and anticipate when he will arrive at each school. Hopefully, this will also help people to come out and support Mr Town on the mammoth journey from Rudheath to Wilsden.

Please, please, please sponsor Mr. Town and donate as directed by school / on the link below. If we achieve all staff and children donating just £1 each this is going to be the biggest charity event we have done as a Trust raising much needed funds so that Papyrus can continue the important work they do. On 14th July Focus-Trust’s CEO Mrs Rowland will run the London 10k with her sister. Mrs Rowland has recently become a Volunteer for Papyrus and will ask family and friends for donations to Papyrus.
