Story
We are delighted to announce that we have chosen South Kent Mind as the Dispatch charity of the year in 2026–a partnership we hope will both bring attention to its work and also help raise much-needed funds to support it.
Throughout the coming year the Dispatch will feature stories about SKM, promote its fundraising events, and help raise cash through a number of channels, including via donations to this page.
Joe Tolhurst, the charity’s fundraising and marketing officer, said: “South Kent Mind are incredibly proud to have been chosen as the Folkestone Dispatch charity of the year for 2026. To be partnered with a platform that shares real stories about life in Folkestone means a great deal to us, as community and lived experience sit at the heart of everything we do.
“For Dispatch readers, supporting South Kent Mind is a way to make a real difference locally. As demand for mental health support continues to grow, community-backed charities like ours rely on local people to ensure these services remain available. Whether it’s through fundraising, sharing our work, or simply engaging with our story, every bit of support helps us be there for people when they need it most.”
