Baby loss affects thousands of families every year, yet it remains something that many people suffer through in silence.

For those of us involved in this match, this cause is deeply personal.

All of the players taking part are bereaved fathers who have experienced the heartbreak of miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss. We know first-hand the impact that losing a baby can have on individuals, relationships, and families.

On Sunday 11th October 2026, during Baby Loss Awareness Week, Held in Our Hearts and Sands Glasgow FC will come together at the Vanloq Community Stadium, home of Spartans FC, not just to play football, but to raise awareness, remember our babies, and support other families facing the same unimaginable loss.

Every penny raised will help support the incredible work carried out by charities that provide counselling, support services, resources, and a caring community for bereaved parents and families.

This match is about more than football.
