Story
We sadly lost our little boy Elias when Becky was 37 weeks pregnant and he was stillborn on 25/11/2025.
During the most difficult time in the hospital we learnt about Abigail's Footsteps. From the moment we found out about them, they've provided invaluable support.
Abigail's Footsteps provided the amazing cooling cot that meant Elias could stay in our room with us after he was born; so we could spend some time with him to say goodbye and our families could meet him. It can't make up for a lifetime, but those precious hours meant the world to us.
They also funded the suite in Croydon Hospital that gives bereaved families space for longer time if they need, and was somewhere for our mums to wait while Elias was born. On top of this they're funding counselling for Becky and Hassan to help process our loss.
We know not every family has the kind of support Abigail's Footsteps have given us, so we're trying to raise money in Elias' name to help fund a cooling cot to help families like ours - so that those facing stillbirth get to spend some time with their baby.
In their own words - Since 2010, Abigail's Footsteps have worked to improve the way bereaved parents are cared for by hospitals and to better educate midwives on how to care for grieving parents.
Abigail's Footsteps also help by creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions.
Please help us raise vital funds so we can continue to support bereaved families.
Thank you.
