In memory of my Dad, inspired by my daugher ❤️

John Tiley is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

This year, I’m taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society—a cause deeply personal to me.

I’m running in memory of my amazing dad, who was impacted by Alzheimer’s shortly after retiring. Having seen firsthand how this disease affects not just the individual but also their families, I know how vital support, research, and awareness are in the fight against it.

Inspiration runs in the family—literally! My daughter ran this race last year, and now it’s my turn to (hopefully) make her proud while supporting a cause we both care about.

How Your Donation Helps 🧠💙

I’m aiming to raise £500, which can help the Alzheimer’s Society provide:

Dementia Advisors to guide families with practical advice and emotional support.

The Dementia Voice platform, where people affected by dementia can share their experiences and make their voices heard.

Funding for research projects to diagnose dementia earlier, develop better treatments, and improve care for those living with this condition.

Thanks in advance for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, is a step closer to making a difference, your contribution will have a lasting impact.
