Story
His grandmother wanted him. His family begged to keep him. He was moved anyway.
Preston Davey was thirteen months old when he died — taken into care as a newborn to keep him safe, then placed somewhere he was anything but. The people who loved him were ready to raise him. They weren’t allowed to.
I can’t change what happened to Preston. But I can fight for the child the system gets to next — and so can you.
I’m raising money in Preston’s name for Kinship, the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. They stand behind the grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings who step up to raise a child when their parents can’t — usually with little money, no training, and a fraction of the support that foster and adoptive carers get. Kinship gives them advice, a helpline and a community to lean on, and fights to change the law so they’re finally treated fairly. They’re the families saying “give the child to us” — Kinship makes sure they’re heard.
Every pound keeps a child where they are loved. So please — give what you can, share this further than feels comfortable, and say his name: Preston — so the next family gets the answer his never did. 🤍
