I've roped my husband Dru into doing a charity walk in memory of my Mum. She died in July 2020 of Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer, plus another bunch of secondary cancers throughout the body. All in a global pandemic, whilst I was halfway through my first pregnancy. She always had great timing.

We held a funeral for her, but it was at a time where you had to restrict the 'guestlist' and I don't feel like she got the send off she deserved. So one day I'll throw a big party in honour of her life, but for now I'll start things off slightly more gentle with a little 6 mile walk.

The Loss Foundation is a charity for people who've lost a loved one to cancer. I was SO SMUG about cancer before. Not one person in my whole family tree had even had a sniff of the stuff, then BAM, out of nowhere - Stage 4, dead within a few months. It was heartbreaking and I can't believe this happens to people everywhere, every single day. The Loss Foundation helped me at a time when I was experiencing very intense, very horrible flashbacks of situations that happened with my beautiful Mum. It wasn't the way I wanted to remember her and their workshops helped me understand what was happening and learn ways to cope with it. They're a bloody good bunch.

Also, Dru ABSOLUTELY HATES walking and one time I made him go on a hike up a mountain and the only reason he did it was because I said there was a pub at the top. There wasn't. (swipe photos for the moment he realised!) He was absolutely fuming so I can't believe he's agreed to this. That's gotta be worth a quid, surely?
