Story
I lost my Dad, Frank Barrett, to Huntington's disease. Remembered as "Glasgow's Biggest Bookie" my Dad lived a full life, adored by many but taken too soon. No one should have to witness a loved one go through such an agonising curse, stripped of all dignity and suffering. From the 28th September I’ll be taking part in 5 events over 9 weeks covering over 100km on behalf of Scottish Huntington's Association to help raise awareness as it's massively underfunded, albeit research has come on over the years there is still very little publicity around this disease or medicine available to help prevent or prolong symptoms of sufferers.
Huntington's Disease is hereditary but it's just your luck what side the coin lands. Whilst I'm fighting fit and able I'll do what I can to help other families in their fight against this horrible disease. I'm running for my Dad because he'd have ran through fire for me.
