Our wonderful friend and dog Joey passed away on October 31, 2025 after 13 sweet years together. He was a rescue dog, and in honor of him, we are fundraising for the East Bay SPCA this holiday season, the animal rescue organization that is closest to our hearts.

The East Bay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (East Bay SPCA), founded in 1874, is proud to be one of the oldest shelters in the country and one of the most innovative in our region.

Not only do they run an adoption shelter, but they also provide housing services to animals of people experiencing temporary housing insecurity so that they don't have to lose their beloved pets during periods of homelessness. Their pet food pantry provides food to the companion animals of people who struggle with food insecurity. And they run an AAHA-accredited, force-free, veterinary practice that provides affordable care to the animals in our community, easing the financial burden on the humans in our community.

Their mission is to transform the lives of cats and dogs by enriching the human-animal bond through respected and accessible expertise. And their vision is a more compassionate world for people and companion animals. They are a local non-profit that is not affiliated with any national organization.
