At the end of last year, our brilliant friend David Weaver took his own life.
He used to run ultra-marathons for fun. He loved them. He used to pester me to get involved, but my answer was always, 'absolutely not, mate!'.
In his memory, I want to get to the finish line and prove him right and me wrong.
26 miles of coastline and over 2 miles of undulating ascent, in one day. It's going to be grim, but all money raised will go to Chrysalis, a charity which specialises in preventing Male Suicide.
They provide support groups and their volunteers encourage men who are spiralling to speak, share and hope.
4,630 young men killed themselves in England last year. It's too many.
We want to make him proud of us.
And as Weaver used to say, 'You don't get rich, betting like a bitch'.
