Ashleigh's fundraiser for UK Sepsis Trust

Ashleigh Blackwell is raising money for UK Sepsis Trust
In memory of my dad, Tony Wild

Kendal to Preston Ultramarathon · 16 May 2026

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

On the 12th May 2016, I unexpectedly and suddenly lost my dad to sepsis. At the time, I wasn’t aware of what sepsis was, it's symptoms or its treatment and after doing some research, I came across the UK Sepsis Trust who seek to save lives. I’m determined to help raise awareness and hopefully make a difference by raising as much money as possible for the UK Sepsis Trust by doing numerous fundraising events, with my latest one being the Kendal to Preston 50 mile Ultramarathon.
