Story
We are pleased to let you know that our school will be taking part in Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week, which will take place during the week commencing 9th February.
Throughout the week, we will be exploring and celebrating children’s mental health to help pupils understand what mental health is, why it is important and who they can talk to if they need support. Activities will be delivered in an age-appropriate way and will encourage open conversations, confidence and wellbeing.
To mark the start of the week, the children will take part in a whole-school assembly on Monday. During the week, classes will also be engaging in activities such as mindfulness exercises, creative art work and discussions around feelings, belonging and wellbeing. As part of this, we will be discussing the options available to our children if they ever need support; for example, utilising their class worry boxes or strategies taught through our school wide Zones of Regulation.
On Monday 9th, we will be holding a ‘Come with Confidence’ own clothes day as a fundraiser for Place2Be, a children’s mental health charity. On this day, children are invited to come to school wearing something that makes them feel confident and comfortable. This could be: a favourite outfit; cultural dress; fancy dress; or simply comfortable clothes. There is no expectation to buy anything new; the focus is on feeling good and expressing confidence.
