💖 Why Heart Heroes?

On Thursday 12th February, the Foundation Studies Department will be holding a fundraising event to celebrate the life of Calum Morris, a Foundation Studies learner who sadly passed away in July 2025, and to raise money for Heart Heroes, a charity very close to both Calum and his family.

Heart Heroes provides vital emotional and practical support to children and families affected by heart conditions. From offering comfort during hospital stays to building a community of understanding and hope, their work makes a real difference when it matters most.

As part of our fundraising event, members of the Foundation Studies staff team will be taking on a walking challenge around the athletics track at our WISE Campus. Calum would have turned 20 on the 7th of February, so to celebrate his life and honour his memory, staff will be completing walking distances of up to 20 miles. Foundation Studies learners will also be involved by choosing a distance or activity they feel comfortable completing, coming together to show their support, raise funds, and make a meaningful contribution in his name.
