Story

My greatest fear has always been heights. In this event, I’ll be putting my trust in a lifeline — and in the support around me — to face that fear head-on.

I’m not doing it alone. Team FourSight is me and my three girls: Abbi, Leonna, and Caitlynn. Along with Cat who is Nick's, my tandem pilot's, daughter. Together, we’re taking on this challenge to give back to the charity that has meant so much to us.

OpenSight has been my lifeline when my world felt like it was falling apart. They’ve stood beside me through the challenges of living with sight loss, helping me rebuild my confidence and see a future full of possibility.

OpenSight empowers people of all ages across Hampshire who are living with vision impairment, offering tailored support, advice, and activities that make a real difference — from early years support for children, to practical guidance for working-age adults, to social clubs that keep older people connected.

By supporting our fundraising, you’ll be helping OpenSight continue and grow these vital services — building confidence and empowering lives together.

Hear from the rest of the team, on their reasons why:

Leonna "I would like to abseil the Spinnaker Tower as a way to challenge myself and do something truly memorable in honor of my dad, who has always inspired me to be brave and push my limits. This experience is not only a personal achievement but also a chance to support Open Sight, a charity doing incredible work for people with visual impairments. By taking on this exciting challenge, I hope to raise awareness and funds for their cause, while also showing my dad how much I appreciate his strength and support throughout my life."

Abbi "I want to challenge myself and prove im still as strong willed as a younger me. I feel that this charity has been a god send in helping my father in his time of need and would like to help raise something to say a huge thankyou to open sight."

Caitlynn "OpenSight were there for my Dad when we had no idea where to turn, and their support has proven to be invaluable to him. Now, as a mother of 2, i have taken on this challenge to give back—and to show my children, family, and friends that anything is possible. Every pound raised will help OpenSight continue their incredible work for families like mine."
