Story
Bowel Cancer UK have been chosen as Four Oaks Tennis Club’s charity of the year for 23/24. John Jackaman, our former Chairman of the Club sadly passed away last year after suffering from this terrible disease for nearly 10 years. His son Jonathan is our current men’s captain, who comments - "our family are really touched that the club has chosen Bowel Cancer UK as its inaugural Charity of the year. My Dad loved being part of such a fantastic, friendly club and made some good friends here. It’s great that the club can come together in friendship and have fun at the same time to raise money and awareness for such a great cause. I’m hoping to play as much of the 24 hours as my arms and legs allow! As part of the final day events we hope to raise awareness of the symptoms of the disease, as well as providing access to testing kits. Early diagnosis is key due to treatment being easier when this disease is caught early".
