Hello from FOWS!

We are really excited to announce that this term Friends of Wheelock School will be running a sponsored read!

Your child will have been given a pyramid to complete with the titles of 10 books they’ve read (or been read to) before July 14th. We hope that this challenge will encourage your child to read for pleasure and that they will enjoy it as well as raise money for FOWS to buy books for school.

If your child doesn’t read independently yet, you should record on their pyramid the books you’ve read together. There is no set guidelines on what books they should be reading, it can be anything and everything! Reading to others, reading independently, or being read to, it all counts - so long as they are enjoying a book, that’s the important thing!

On the back of the form there is space for your child to make suggestions of books they think the school should purchase, their opinions matter!

Once complete, make sure their name and class is on their pyramid and return it to their class teacher for the chance to win a £10 amazon gift card! They’ve got to be in it to win it! The prize will be drawn on the last week of the summer term.

MOST IMPORTANTLY! We can’t buy books without sponsorship - Please give generously!

We are hoping to raise £1000 and if we get anywhere near that amount it will be amazing for the school! All the money raised will be spent solely on books. Please share the sponsorship link far and wide with friends and family so we can push to raise as much as possible.
