Take a moment to watch Ben's film

Please take just 4 minutes to watch Ben's film, then donate if you can.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive condition diagnosed in childhood. It causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken, including the heart and lungs. DMD almost always affects boys. It is typically diagnosed in childhood between the age of three and six.

There is currently no cure for Duchenne, but there is hope. Duchenne UK are at the forefront of advancing treatments and care for everyone affected by the disease.

Fox Payne are proud to have partnered with the charity Duchenne UK to raise awareness and specifically funds for the Ben vs Duchenne Family Fund. This means that Ben and his family get to decide where to allocate the funds raised which has included to support research, funding projects like Elevex (an assistive technology for upper limb mobility) and DMD Care UK which aims to standardise care nationwide.

Watch our webinar with Ben’s Dad, Alex

We were very pleased and grateful to be joined by Ben’s Dad, Alex Clarke, who spoke openly and emotionally about the effects of this condition on Ben and his family, and what we can all do to help their cause, and other boys like Ben.

We were also joined by Freddie van Mierlo, MP for Henley & Thame, who spoke about the work he is doing in Parliament to raise awareness of this disease and for changes that are required in the health system to provide consistent treatment across the UK and access to a drug called Givinostat, which is not yet available through the Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) Trust, which is where Ben lives.

If you couldn’t attend in person, you can watch the webinar recording here.

Thames Path Walk

On Friday 11th September, the Fox Payne team completed a day long Thames Path walk to raise awareness and funds for Duchenne UK.

It was a fantastic day of teamwork, conversation and a few tired legs — but most importantly, it was an opportunity to support a cause that makes a real difference to families affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

We’re delighted to have raised nearly £5,000 through the challenge. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us, donated and encouraged the team along the way.

At Fox Payne, we’re proud to support causes that matter to our team and our wider community. We will continue to support Duchenne UK and the Ben vs Duchenne fund during 2027 & 2028.

Do you have any suggestions what fundraising activity we should do next?
