When I was 18, I experienced domestic abuse. I suffered in silence for years, believing I had to carry the weight alone. Eventually, I found my way to Foyle Women’s Aid and took part in their Journey to Freedom course. It was a turning point. That programme helped me begin to heal, rebuild my confidence, and ultimately create a life I’m proud of - one filled with happiness, love, and safety.

A while ago, I started sharing snippets of my life on TikTok. One day, I received a particularly nasty comment from a troll. Instead of letting it get to me, I responded with a video - and to my surprise, my following doubled almost overnight.

The unexpected growth from that video sparked an idea. I decided to ride the momentum and aim for 10,000 followers so I could join the TikTok Creator Rewards Programme. My goal was to donate every penny I earn for three months to Foyle Women’s Aid - an organisation that helped save me.

Since then, I’ve been completely blown away by the support - not only online, but from local businesses too. Every kind message, share, follow, and donation has helped fuel this journey. In total, we raised £593.44 from TikTok views alone, and the incredible response inspired me to organise in-person fundraising events as well.
