Finchley Progressive Synagogue is a hub of the local community. It hosts events for many local charities, including for the benefit of a Farsi speaking womens' group, Syrian refugees, a homeless shelter and a special needs school called Southover. In addition, of course, it is the home to a vibrant, liberal Jewish community, with education, worship and other events, led by our outstanding Rabbi Rebecca Birk.

The building has been home to FPS since the 1960s. It is now falling down and needs to be refurbished urgently. As a trustee of FPS, I have chosen to undertake a kamikaze swim through the night at the Hampton Court Lido.

12 miles, 7pm to 7am.
