Story
I was diagnosed with metastatic triple negative breast cancer in July this year and whilst I was using a cold-cap to try and prevent chemotherapy induced hair loss, I’m calling it a day. Before I lose all of my hair naturally I am going to raise funds for The Clothing Bank and do a charity head shave. I will then donate my hair to The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children with cancer and other illnesses that result in hair loss.
Those of you who know me, know I am incredibly passionate about supporting The Clothing Bank (based in West Yorkshire). The founders (Susan & Sally) work tirelessly to gather pre-loved clothing which goes straight out to people in the community who desperately need it.
It is truly wonderful what they do, and it warms my heart every time I see a post where they’ve helped a teenager who was too embarrassed to go to college because they didn’t have trainers, or a young child who finally has a warm winter coat and wellies, or an elderly person who now has enough underwear or a warm dressing gown. This genuinely is a charity where every single donation counts!
This Christmas, along with the usual parcels of clothes being sent out, the ladies are aiming to send out a pair of Christmas pyjamas or a new item of clothing, so every person has a special gift to open.
If I reach my target of £500 I will share the video of my head shave on my socials.
Please donate, as much or as little as you are comfortable with, and help these wonderful charities continue their amazing work.
Thank you.
Much love, Fran x
