Campaign by RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RCN Eng/Wal 209603,SC037736,ROI20003326,IOM1308,Jer14)
The RNLI provides a seasonal lifeguard service on six beaches on the island of Jersey. Our lifeguards share safety advice, provide first aid to those who need it, and save the lives of those who get in trouble in the water.

Story

This JustGiving page has been setup to support in memory of Anthony Gerald Joseph ("Tj, Tony, Teej”)

His sister Yvette Joseph (Ark) and friend Claudia Purley are booked to swim as a relay team with Joe Davidson, Mark Halliwell, Adrian Thomas & Helen Wallace. Sheila Coutanche will be looking after the team & having a dip, led by skipper Neil Faudemer, a dedicated animal rescue charity member.

This dedicated team will embark on an extraordinary journey, swimming from Jersey, La Coupe to Carteret in France in memory of Teej, the month of his birthday.

Each individual will take it in turns to swim for an hour in relay & repeat before they all swim for final 100m, a total of 14 miles. This swim is not just a physical challenge, which took months of training, but a powerful tribute to a life that touched so many. The team, composed of family & friends, is United by our shared commitment to honour this legacy through action.

The funds raised from this inspiring endeavour will go to the RNLI in Jersey & Chichester UK, where he lived, which tirelessly works to save lives at sea, as well as the Itchenor critical sea wall project, essential for protecting coastal communities from the increasing threats of erosion and flooding. These causes represent safety, resilience, and hope for countless individuals.

We invite you to join us in making a difference by donating any amount however large or small to any one (or all) of the three charity links below with any funds going directly to the charity you select via the links.

If enough people in our community on both shores contribute, those donations can help ensure that these important organisations continue their life-saving work. Together, we can turn this swim into a beacon of hope and strength for all who depend on these services.

Jersey RNLI Lifeguards

During 2025 our Lifeguards were involved in 291 incidents, saved 3 lives and assisted a further 370 people. In addition, they also carried out 44.959 preventative actions, helping to ensure the safety of our beach users.

The money raised through this JustGiving page will help to ensure that our RNLI Lifeguards on the island of Jersey have the best equipment and training to continue to carry out their lifesaving work on their beaches.
