The Great Snowden Climb for KingsCare League of Friends · 5 July 2025
Update 22/03/2025
I have decided to change the Just Giving name from “Charlie’s fundraising Snowdon Climb ” to “The Great Snowdon Climb for KingsCare”.
The Snowdon Climb first started as a little idea thought of by myself “Charlie” and the Redstone family- the family of one of our lovely residents at Coombes Wood and now has turned into a great community team effort.
Wow !! We have received so much support so far, with donations, sponsors and people joining “The Great Snowdon Climb for KingsCare”. If you would like to join please message me or contact me via email admin@coombeswoodhouse.co.uk
Everyone is welcome no matter your ability, together we can do it, anything is possible. It’s been lovely to see how much a small local community can come together to make such a difference for such an amazing charity.
Hi 👋,
My name is Charlie, I am the Deputy Manager of a dementia care home in Kingsteignton. Over the years in my job I have met so many people who have benefited from the amazing services that KingsCare offer to our community and surrounding areas.
My aim is to climb Snowdon reaching the summit, raising as much money and awareness for KingsCare.
I would like to invite people to join me on my climb to the top of Snowdon🗻🥾There are no commitments to raising money. Whether this is something on your bucket list, a personal challenge or a “fun” day out 😄
I am not an experienced hiker or climber myself so it really will be a group effort 🥾
More the merrier !!
The climb up Snowdon will take place on 5th July 2025. We will set off together at the bottom of Snowdon and venture up the mountain.
I will provide regular updates - route will be confirmed 🙌
Any support, advice or help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Charlie Brine
KingsCare exists to provide support when needed, usually following a downturn in someone’s health or a change in circumstances that affects their mental health or direction in life.
Often our support is only needed in the short term eg ensuring that all benefits claims are made, follow up appointments made etc. Once they are better and independent again, practical support ends but not always our connection.
Our work with Dementia patients and their carers is on going. Instead of asking “How are you?” we ask “How can we help?”
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
