Story
Please support me as I hike up Ben Nevis for Both Parents Matter.
It's been over 3 decades since I attempted anything like this, so I would really value your support 💙 I've set my target at £1,345, £1 for every metre of Ben Nevis.
Every day, Both Parents Matter supports parents who are facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives — from losing contact with their children to navigating a complex and often overwhelming family court system. Many feel isolated, unheard, and at breaking point.
Your support will change lives, and ensure more children can maintain meaningful relationships with both parents and their wider family.
On May 30th, at the summit, I hope to raise a flag for Both Parents Matter with the Shared Parenting Scotland team, who are climbing Ben Nevis, to give a united message that children across the UK need both parents in their lives. On the same day, our CEO, Sam Morfey will be climbing Snowdon.
The climb is a symbol of the challenge many families face, navigating complex court processes, delays, and emotional strain.
I'm stepping up to say: children deserve better. Better support, better systems, and better outcomes.
Key Messages:
● No child should feel they’ve lost a parent just because their parents have separated.
● Climbing a mountain is hard - but so is navigating family court. We promote the alternatives.
● Together, we can help families find alternative paths - keeping the rights of children at the centre.
