Ed and I are 50 years old this year and to start the decade strong we are running the Loch Ness marathon at the end of September. We thought we’d put all the training to good use and try to raise some money for Queensferry Churches Care in the Community. They are based at the Haven, just opposite our old house, and provide essential support to older people and carers in Queensferry and surrounding area. This includes:

Day Care for those who are socially isolated, have reduced mobility, long term health conditions or a diagnosis of dementia,

Almond Supper Club for those with a diagnosis of dementia and their carers. A chance to enjoy a meal together in a relaxed and supported environment.

Memory Café, once a month for support and advice.

The current financial climate means the cost of providing these services is ever increasing. I am very grateful to you for sponsoring me to raise a little money for them to continue the amazing work they do for older people and carers in our community.
