Story
On Saturday 7th of September, I will be attempting to climb Kilimanjaro alongside 19 other intrepid explorers from Zebra Technologies. I am so excited to have the opportunity to do something so exciting and adventurous in my 40’s and I am looking forward to testing myself mentally and physically.
In addition, it offers a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a special cause. When I was thinking about which charity to choose, I would reflect about what would help motivate me to keep going on the climb when things get tough. Whilst there are a number of charities and organisations myself and my family have been supported by over the years, I kept coming back to the same conclusion Alzheimer’s Society.
Several years ago, I lost my Nanny Peg, to Alzheimer’s. The thing that struck me was the impact the disease had not only on my nan but also everyone that loved her. Anything that can be done to slow down the onset of Alzheimer’s or eradicate it in its entirety has my vote.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a pinny, fluffy slippers with a blue rinse and set. Love you, Nanny Peg.
Thank you to all that support me and this cause, it will spur me onwards and upwards!
