Story
This is a cause close to my heart as my beloved nonna Lucia has unfortunately suffered and passed in December 2021 due to the complications caused by Alzheimer's disease. She was a sassy, amazing, and caring lady who raised six grandchildren including myself who loved crime and investigation TV and was a big football fan supporting Inter Milan. I have seen her changing over the years due to this disease to the point where she could no longer understand the plot of one of her favourite shows or recognise me when visiting Italy from the UK. It literally broke me to see her like this and even more when she passed away. My family and I miss her presence every single day.
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer, affecting countless lives and families. Every three minutes, someone receives the life-altering diagnosis of dementia, and as of now, there is no cure. This reality can be daunting, but we must face this significant health and social care challenge together. We owe it to the 1 million individuals currently living with dementia across the UK to advocate for change while providing essential day-to-day support.
On October 5th, 2025, I will be participating in the London Memory Walk 2025. This event is not just a walk; it’s a powerful statement of solidarity and hope for those affected by dementia. By joining me in this effort or by donating to my fundraising page, you are contributing to a cause that truly matters. Your support will help fund vital services and research initiatives that aim to improve the lives of those living with dementia.
I have set a target of £200 for this campaign. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your contribution directly to Alzheimer's Society—making it an effortless way to make a difference. So I ask you: who will you walk for? Together, let’s create a future where no one faces dementia alone. #MemoryWalk
