I’m doing a skydive to raise money for Jane Scarth Cancer Centre in Romsey because the work they do to support people going through their cancer and their families means so much to me.

When you’re given a cancer diagnosis, it feels like you’ve been thrown off a cliff. That’s I how felt when I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2014. But this year, I celebrate 10 years in remission thanks to the amazing NHS and with the love and support of my family and friends, as well as brilliant charities like Jane Scarth House.

This small charity in Romsey does so much to help those facing the toughest of times, by surrounding them with hope and kindness, and they are in great need of funds to help them to continue with their vital work. Despite not receiving any government funding, Jane Scarth house offers things as befriending, free complementary therapies and counselling services to those in need and always provides a safe haven to share your worries, get information and feel cared for.

On 12th October the being thrown off a cliff feeling will have a different meaning for me, but I am also jumping for our family’s loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer, and for those who have needed to be brave many times in the face of it. Our family has used the support of Jane Scarth house many times and it really means a lot to me to be able to give something back.
