Fundraiser For The PSP Association In Memory of Francis

130-mile trek from University of Bath to the Memorial Event in London · 1 April 2024
October 2023 marked the departure of our beloved brother, Francis Boateng-Frimpong. Francis embodied a remarkable selflessness and radiance that illuminated the lives of all who knew him; his absence is deeply felt by us all.
His unwavering support was a cornerstone for his family, particularly for his mother, Comfort, who battles a rare neurological condition known as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) (which affects appx 6 in 100,000 people, with no current cure). As well as many other hats Francis wore, he was also his mother’s carer . Francis dedicated himself to accompanying her to every medical appointment, meticulously documenting the doctors' recommendations and procuring essential equipment to enhance her quality of life. His relentless efforts aimed to provide solace to his family, efforts that were profoundly cherished by all. Described by his mother as possessing "a heart of pure gold," Francis' compassion and dedication has continued to inspire us.
Therefore, as a tribute to Francis, we conceived the idea of retracing our steps to Bath, where our paths first met during our university days, and embarking on a journey back to London to partake in the celebration of his life planned for his birthday on April 1st. In the wake of Francis' passing, we pledged our commitment to stand by his family in any way possible. By undertaking this endeavour, we aim not only to honour Francis' memory but also to raise awareness and funds for the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association (PSPA), a charity which relies entirely on voluntary donations to help individuals like Francis' mother. Francis was an avid supporter of the PSP Association, regularly partaking in carers group meetings and family away days to learn more about the condition and how to better support his mother.
Our plan entails a 130-mile trek from the University of Bath to the memorial event in London, spanning over the easter weekend. We would be deeply grateful if you could share our endeavour or contribute to the PSPA in solidarity with our cause.
Thank you for your support and God Bless!
