Ronald McDonald House Charities UK is an independent charity providing free 'home away from home’ accommodation for families with children in hospital. Thanks to your donations, we are able to provide up to 530 families with accommodation each night so they can be together no matter what.

Story

Last year I attempted my first London to Brighton mass ride and raised awareness and valuable funds for the Brain Tumour charity following the sad and sudden loss of my very good friend Bill Quaile. Thanks again to everyone for your support.

It felt good and I even conquered the infamous Ditchling Beacon, on a bright and sunny day in the team of 8.

This year I intend to support a different cause, Ronald Mcdonald House, with an equally powerful story.

Last year, a close colleague, Louise, received fantastic support from this charity when her youngest daughter suffered a life threatening accident that left her in intensive care for several weeks. Her injuries were severe and were treated at the same burn unit that helped many of the Manchester bombing victims. During that period the charity provided accommodation at the hospital giving the whole family a safe place whilst poor Phoebe battled for her life.

With sites across the country, Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.

Their Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.

They help over 6,000 families each year and now, more than ever, need your support.
