Story

It happens... Cancer arrives suddenly and throws your life into a whirlwind. It’s not only the medical side — it’s the emotional, practical, and unseen challenges that come all at once. It can feel exhausting, confusing, overwhelming.

I’m running the half marathon for Maggie’s Centre — a light in the chaos. A place of knowledge, care, and community that supports you through treatment and beyond. Courses like Parenting with Cancer, Nutrition During Treatment, Yoga After Surgery, and especially Where Now, helping you find your ground after treatment ends, have been vital in keeping me going when everything felt uncertain.

If cancer ever touches your life, directly or indirectly, know there’s a place that understands the other side of cancer — a sanctuary ready to hold you when you need it most. Maggie’s truly makes a difference. Thank you for reading and, if you can, for contributing.

P.S. Do send me the name of your favourite uplifting song to add to my running playlist — I’m starting from scratch.
