Story
On Tuesday 18th August we sadly lost my wonderful dad Frank Fyles, and to honour his memory, I'll be taking on the Great North Run on Sunday 13th September (half marathon/21k).
In lieu of flowers at my dad's funeral, my family would be very grateful for donations to my fundraising page for the RSPB which is a charity that was very close to my dad's heart.
Over the last five years, my Dad lived with dementia and prostate cancer, and in the end he sadly passed away following pneumonia. It was an incredibly difficult period for him and for all of us who loved him.
My Dad was someone who found so much joy in the simple things in life, and one of those things was watching birds. He always had a love of outdoors and nature and the RSPB was his special charity.
It’s going to be a tough challenge, but having my Dad in my thoughts and heart will give me the motivation to keep going, especially during the more difficult final miles.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation will mean a lot to my family and I.
This one’s for you Dad. ❤️
