Hadrian's Wall Cycle Ride fundraiser for BEAT

Frankie O'Brien is raising money for Beat

Hadrian's Wall Cycle

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Thanks for stopping by here. This a fundraiser for BEAT, the UK’s eating disorder charity. On Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July 2026, I am cycling the Hadrian’s Wall Cycle Route from Ravenglass on the West Cumbrian coast to Tynemouth, North Tyneside on the East coast.

BEAT were a big help to me when I needed it and were a great source of advice and support, so I’d like to give something back. I’ll be trying to raise awareness around eating disorders at the same time.

I get by with a little help from my friends, so Chris Glencorse and Andy Francis, will be joining me for the whole route and Declan O’Brien from Carlisle onwards.

I know for some people that the relationship between their eating disorder and exercise can be a difficult one and has the potential to be detrimental to their health. This ride is very much a fun thing with friends that we’ll be taking our time over with a few detours to Roman sites along the way (Chris can’t resist a fort or museum if he sees one!).

I am very grateful for any sponsorship and sharing my messages to raise awareness.

Thanks a million, Frankie
