After giving birth to my daughter Lexi in 2022, I was hospitalised with postpartum psychosis. I was lucky to be treated in a specialist Mother and Baby Unit, but not everyone is so lucky - some mothers still have to be separated from their babies on general psychiatric wards, which I know would have jeopardised my recovery and relationship with my daughter.

APP is currently raising money for their campaigns to increase MBU capacity across the UK. I'm hoping that I will soon become the first woman, to my knowledge, to run all 30 of the mountains in the Yorkshire Dales - any funds raised will be donated to APP.
