Like a lot of people in the area, this hospice is special place for me and my family as the talented team took care of my Mum during the last stages of her life. Even 20 years on I can still remember the extra care given to ensure she was comfortable and happy. This is a wonderful way for me to remember her and to introduce the importance of giving and fund raising to my daughter (age 5) who will also help make sure we get round the track in one piece!
Hospice of the Good Shepherd supports patients in Chester, Cheshire West, Ellesmere Port and Deeside who are facing a life-limiting illness.
The Hospice's dedicated team of staff and healthcare professionals aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with a life-limiting illness, and help to maintain their dignity. We provide specialist palliative care for people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses, at all stages of their illness.
Were not just focused on our patients. We recognise that its also a difficult time for relatives, carers and friends and we provide support for them too.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs £5.1million to run each year with just 20% of the funding received coming from statutory sources. The remaining 80% is raised from a range of fundraising events such as Chester Sparkle Walk.
