Everesting Cheddar Gorge for British Heart Foundation

Everesting Cheddar Gorge
In May, Frank and James are undertaking the Everest Challenge, in our very own Cheddar Gorge. This involves cycling up the Gorge exactly 60 times equalling (just over) 8848m of total elevation gain. The total distance cycled will be 250km and we are anticipating this will take about 24 hours of non-stop cycling.
We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation, and riding in memory of Frank’s Dad, Grant, who has a sudden cardiac arrest whilst riding his bicycle.
Grant loved Cheddar Gorge, and was always riding up and down, and once posted his descent to YouTube. It still gets views and comments to this day (despite being filmed when he was on longterm sick leave...)!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist.
Training for this event is going to take some serious commitment, and we’ll both have to work hard to fit it into our already busy schedules (so, apologies in advance if we both turn into boring cycling nerds). Any support is very much appreciated and we both thank you for taking the time to read this page!
