We're raising money for the YMCA because we believe in the power of Lights, Camera, Impact! The Y helps change lives every day—through scholarships, safe spaces, and programs that build brighter futures.

As youth, the YMCA gave us a great sense of community - from adults coming from the 12th Street Y to lead grade school Y activities ("Gra-Y") for Franklin at the Booker T. Washington Elementary School, to the co-ed Y leadership program that prepared us to be civic leaders.

The JCPS/YMCA Child Enrichment Program (CEP) was a lifeline when our three grandchildren were in our custody during the military deployment of their parents. Black Achievers develops leaders in many fields of endeavor. Our daughter excels in public policy and non-profit leadership. Our children learned to swim at the Y.

Today, the Y is community. There are programs for every generation - toddlers to advanced seniors. And we are blessed to be members of the Republic Bank YMCA advisory board.
