Story

My story. Our story. Mum’s story.

It all began on October 5th, 2021 — the day my mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where doctors worked quickly to assess her. At first, no one knew what was happening. Then came the diagnosis: a meningioma brain tumour. It was a terrifying moment for all of us — especially after losing our beloved Nan to a cancerous brain tumour years earlier.

Mum was scheduled for surgery on October 11th. That day felt endless — minutes stretched into hours, hours into days. But Mum, in her strength and courage, pulled through. It’s a testament not only to her resilience but also to the strength of everyone who has faced, or will face, a similar battle.

That’s why, on April 26th, 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of Brain Research UK — to raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity. I’m lucky to still have my mum here with me. Sadly, not everyone gets that chance.

This run is for you, Mum and Nan xx
