Story
On my 40th birthday, I am fortunate to call you my friends and family - I've known many of you for nearing two decades! The laughs, joy and support you have all brought to my life over the years are immeasurable and I could not ask for a better circle of friends. As I celebrate, I am reflecting on the work on the 519 - an organization that impacts queer and trans communities at every stage of life. From activities for children and youth, to tax clinics, to newcomer programs, and opportunities for seniors, The 519 makes Toronto a less lonely place for a community often left out and left behind by mainstream social services. For my birthday, instead of gifts, I would be grateful if you could donate to The 519. To kick things off, and to honour the difference you all have made in my life, I am contributing $1,000. It's a modest investment that will have an outsized impact, the way your friendship has impacted me.
