In 2022 I met Keira through a fantastic charity called MCR Pathways. MCR match young people up with mentors from the community in order to spend an hour a week, within the school setting. Each session can vary depending on the needs of the young person and throughout this we have helped to organise work placements, created study plans, practiced mock exams, talked about general life and all the trials in between.

The ultimate goal is to support young people and ensure equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.

We have had an amazing 3 and a half years where we have supported each other through this hour a week and this would not have been possible without MCR Pathways and their staff.

Our mentoring journey is coming to an end shortly as Keira looks to move on to her dream university place to begin a career as a Primary School teacher. We would like to do a final act together to help raise awareness of the fantastic work MCR Pathways do and support the growth of this to reach more young people.

We will be completing the Kiltwalk 2025 on April 26th with a 14 mile walk from Clydebank to Balloch.
