Story
This April I will be attempting to run 2 marathons in one month to support Sense International. I will be taking on the Milan marathon on 6th April and the London marathon on 27th April.
Any donations which you are able to make will go a long way to supporting those with deafblindness and their families.
To understand further what donation money could mean for those affected, please see some examples below of how funds are used:
£50 could pay for assistive devices such as glasses and hearing aids for 3 children.
£100 could provide training for 3 families to improve their understanding of deafblindness and how to support their children.
£1,000 could support a young person with deafblindness to attend a vocational training course for 3 months to learn new skills and improve their livelihood.
Sense International is the only international non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting people with deafblindness and their families around the world.
The charity ensures that people with deafblindness can access education, healthcare and the means to earn a living, so they can thrive and live life to their full potential. They work in eight countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Peru and Romania.
Sense identify children with deafblindness as early as possible in life so that, with the right support, they are able to thrive. They improve access to quality education and vocational training so that children and young people with deafblindness can become independent, establish a livelihood, and meet their full potential.
