Story

We did it!! 🚴🏼🚴🏼‍♂️🚴🏼‍♀️🌧️💙

Thank you so so much to everyone who sponsored me!! Thank you thank you thank you !!!!

Hello, my name is Fred and one year ago I was diagnosed with type one diabetes. On the 6th of December I am going to be riding my bike from Borthwood to Brighstone (and hitting the jumps and riding trails at each spot), I hope that this will raise awareness of the four symptoms of diabetes:

Toilet - going to the toilet a lot more than usual, or wetting the bed.

Thirsty - being really thirsty and not being able to quench the thirst.

Thin - losing weight or looking thinner than usual.

Tired - feeling more tired than usual.

These four symptoms were how I found out about my condition.

I believe that raising awareness of the 4 T’s could help people catch it early, I am extremely lucky as I caught it very early. If not diagnosed in time it can be life threatening.

I am also doing this to show other type ones that diabetes should not stop you from doing anything ever.

I will give all of the money to the iow paediatric diabetes team and children’s ward. I remember when I was in the children’s ward and they gave me a Lego advent calendar with some money that another person had raised for them.

If you do, thanks for donating to this cause.

I’ll be joined by my friends and family and also anyone who would like to join us to help raise funds and awareness!
