Fred aka Betty ongoing fundraising for Children's Hospice South West

Fred Thomas is raising money for Children's Hospice South West
We provide hospice care for babies, children and young people living with life-limiting conditions and their families. Hospice stays, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at 3 children's hospices; Little Bridge House in Devon, Charlton Farm in Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.

Story

I have been fundraising for Children's Hospice South west for the last 14 years with my Bucket I carry dressed as Betty Stogs or more recently known as " Betty,Cornwall's Charity Maid".

CHSW is one of 3 main charities I collect for by attending events with my collection bucket, sometimes getting into a sing-song or speaking about the work at Little Harbour, our local children's hospice in St Austell.

Each year I also take part in their annual 3 day cycle event, Ride for precious Lives which endures over 200 miles of cycling between their 3 hospices in Cornwall, Devon and North Somerset - and of course dressed as Betty!

Any donation onto this Just Giving page will support the £3,500,000 it costs every year to run Little Harbour and the support they provide to 130 children & young people with life limiting conditions. This support includes palliative care, resilience stays, day visits, support in their own homes and most importantly end of lifecare and bereavement support.

Your donation could support things like:

£5 could fund the ingredients for a Child’s Birthday Cake to make memories with their family to last a lifetime

£20 could help fund family time in the Hydrotherapy Pool

£60 could pay for a community nurse specialist to visit & support

a Child in their own home

£70 could fund an hour of care at our hospice – this includes all the services, staff, therapies, outings, activities – the lot

£100 could provide a parent with an uninterrupted nights sleep to give them the strength to face tomorrow.

I am currently the Pride of Britain South West winner for the money I have collected and would like to continue to support in anyway I can in 2024.
