LMTO runs The London 10k 2024
Campaign by LMTO (RCN 1167608)
Members of London Musical Theatre Orchestra's community are coming together to run The London 10k on July 14th and raise vital funds to support our work. The award-winning LMTO is the UK’s specialist orchestra dedicated to musical theatre.

Story

LMTO does amazing things with musicals and musicians and deserves your support. Any amount will help: £23 will cover the place of someone at Sitz who can't afford it, £200 will cover the cost of one student participating in LMTO Upbeat, £1,000 funds one professional development workshop and £9,000 creates a brand new orchestra in a school where there are currently no music provisions. I'm going big and trying to raise £10,000 - a transformative sum that will have a really meaningful impact on what we can achieve in the next 12 months.

Dodgy knees prevent me from running, so instead I shall be testing my own internal pulse and stride length by attempting to march the 10km at a constant 115bpm, one of my favourite tempos. My average stride over the last year is 71cm, so that will mean a speed of 1.36m/s, so if my tempo is any good, I'll finish it in 2hr 2 minutes and 33 seconds. To make the challenge harder, I won't check the time for the duration of the run.

I encourage conditional sponsorship based on how close I can get to the time, and conditional mockery based on just how out away I get. Those cheering me on are encouraged to bring a metronome and provide feedback as I go.

Please do give generously.
