The Heffer Brothers' fundraiser for Radnorshire Wildlife Trust

Frederick Heffer is raising money for Radnorshire Wildlife Trust

The Great River Race · 20 September 2025

Together with our members and volunteers, we work to protect wildlife across Radnorshire, both on our 18 nature reserves and through our work with others.

Story

Hello All,

This weekend, on the 20th of September, four brothers are rowing a small skiff 21.6 miles up the Thames, from Millwall in the East to Richmond in the West. This is the first time we have competed in The Great River Race and the first time our boat has ever been on The Thames.

We aim to raise money for the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust which works to protect and restore what remains of a wild Britain in Mid Wales. An important part of the the charity's work has to do with the restoration of rivers, so it makes sense we are afloat. One project in particular is the River Lugg project that you can read more about here: https://www.rwtwales.org/wilderluggproject

We will row our arms off on Saturday in the hope that this will encourage you to give handsomely. This will ensure the charity can continue the restoration of British land, thereby protecting the wild things that live there.

We would be extremely grateful for a donation of any sort.

Freddie, Otto, Hugo and Kit
